Privacy notice
Last updated 8th October 2026
This notice explains what personal information we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it short and plain.
Who we are
Playmarks is a trading name of Geomark Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17500611. We design and install playground markings for schools. Geomark Group Ltd is the controller of the personal information described here.
To contact us about your information, email hello@playmarks.co.uk or call 07702 328057.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry. Your name, your role, your school's name and postcode, your email address and phone number, what you're interested in, and anything you write in the message box. We also record which of our emails brought you to the page, if any, using the tracking tags in the link (such as utm_source and utm_content), and the page address.
If you're a school leader we've emailed. We licensed a database of school contact details from Schools Mailing, a provider of education data. From it we hold your title, name, role, school name and address, and your work email address. We use this to tell schools about our playground marking services.
When you receive our emails. Our email service records whether an email was delivered, opened or a link clicked, and whether you unsubscribed. We may phone a school whose contact clicked a link, to follow up.
When you visit this website. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser details, to run the site and keep it secure. To protect the enquiry form from spam, we use Google reCAPTCHA, which checks how the page is being used and may set a cookie. It's used only for security, and Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. We don't use analytics or advertising trackers.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- Telling schools about our services. We send business-to-business emails to schools about playground markings. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: it's in our interest to find school customers, and schools reasonably expect to hear from suppliers of services they buy. Every email identifies us and includes an unsubscribe link.
- Replying to your enquiry. We use what you send us to reply, arrange a survey visit and prepare a playground plan and quote. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, and where you go on to place an order, taking steps to enter into a contract with you.
- Running and protecting the website and form. Legitimate interests, to keep the site working and secure and to stop spam.
We've carried out a legitimate interests assessment and we keep a record of it. We don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of trusted service providers to send our emails, host this website, deliver and protect our enquiry form, and run our email inbox. They act only on our instructions, under contracts that require them to keep your information secure.
Some of these providers store or access information outside the UK, in the European Union and the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the UK's adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or approved contract terms such as standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries. We keep your enquiry and our correspondence for up to two years after we were last in touch. If you become a customer, we keep order and contract records for six years after the work is finished, for accounting and any guarantee.
- School contact details from Schools Mailing. We keep these for no longer than 12 months from when we received them, then delete or refresh them.
- If you unsubscribe or object. We keep your email address on a "do not contact" list so we never email you again. We keep nothing else for this purpose.
- Email activity. Our email service keeps campaign reports for 30 days. We keep a summary of results, such as who clicked, for up to 12 months to plan follow-up.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your information;
- restrict how we use it while a concern is looked into.
You can object at any time to us using your information to contact you about our services, and we will stop. The quickest way is the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or reply to one of our emails, or email hello@playmarks.co.uk. You can also object to other uses based on legitimate interests.
There's no charge, and we'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection: visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113.
